I work with a group of very creative people and our clients to design their corporate meetings and events. The goal is always to engage the audience so they leave with a clear understanding of message, ready to take action. I get to do the fun part and find ways to make the key messages more engaging (using outside speakers and experts) and by booking entertainment that ensure that everyone has a great time.

talking with speakers about content (discussing with them the best way to integrate them into an event we are producing); talking to clients about the reason they are bringing their people together in the first place and how we can support that with a speaker. Or you’ll find me working with other MBers on creative ideas for new proposals, talking to agents about entertainers, previewing a great new act, a fun band or a new speaker.

is coming here in the first place. It makes infinitely more sense to work on a meeting as a whole (always keeping “the point” of the event in mind),.than it did to "fill a slot with a speaker", as I did when I worked at a speakers bureau in a previous life.
